Our Therapy Play Group is a space where neurodivergent children aged four to nine years can explore, engage, and connect in a supportive and flexible environment.
With an emphasis on creativity and connection, our sessions allow your children to interact and express themselves in a way that feels natural to them, while also providing a space for families to build lasting relationships.
Sessions are held for two hours weekly (during school terms) in Rockhampton.
Our play group aims to foster growth, creativity, and meaningful connections in a nurturing community.

We understand that traditional play environments can be overwhelming for some children. That’s why our playgroup is a low-pressure environment where kids are free to participate in activities as they wish, take breaks, or leave early if needed. We focus on creating a space where every child feels comfortable, respected, and understood, allowing them to explore and engage at their own pace.

Every child is unique in how they interact, communicate, and engage with their environment. For many children, the social experiences provided by school or organised sports and activities may not fully meet their needs. Our group offers tailored experiences that allow children to engage with peers in a more comfortable and authentic way, helping them grow and demonstrate growth in our supportive environment.

We offer a nurturing space where your child can connect with others, developing friendships and social skills in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. In our playgroup, children are encouraged to engage with peers in a supportive environment that fosters positive interactions. Our approach focuses on helping each child feel comfortable and confident as they build meaningful connections and navigate social relationships at their own pace.

Play is a powerful tool for learning and development. We focus on natural skill development, helping your child grow and learn in a way that feels right for them, without pressuring them to fit into a specific program.

We offer a variety of activities that cater to each child’s unique interests and needs, encouraging them to explore new ways to play and express themselves. This flexible approach helps children interact with others in ways that feel authentic and enjoyable.

Our sessions focus on the power of play as a tool for developing essential skills. By engaging in play at their own pace, children naturally build confidence, genuine connections, and social understanding in a relaxed, supportive environment.

With consistent group members and familiar environments, in our playgroup, children have the opportunity to build long-term friendships and engage with others in their own way. The continuity of familiar faces and settings helps children feel secure and supported, allowing them to develop deeper connections over time. This stability gives them the time and space they need to fully engage, explore their relationships, and grow socially, fostering a strong sense of belonging within the group.

We’ve seen the great value of having parents present during our sessions—not only for the kids, who benefit from their parents’ presence throughout the sessions, but also for the parents themselves, who gain opportunities to connect with others who understand their experiences. Siblings are also welcome, creating a supportive community that involves the whole family and enriches the group dynamic. This sense of community is an integral part of our playgroup.

This group is led by a psychologist and a teacher who bring together their knowledge of child development, socialisation, neurodivergence, and play therapy. Together, they can nurture and support children to build skills in a real, supportive, and inclusive setting. As mums of neurodivergent kids ourselves, we understand the unique challenges and joys that come with raising neurodivergent children. Through our approach, we’ve seen amazing growth among the kids who participate, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to witness their journey in our group.
