The Loft - Support for the Everyday Moments
You know your child better than anyone. And you’re still stuck.
You’ve read the books. You’ve sat through the appointments. You’ve tried the strategies, the ones that worked for two days and then didn’t. You’ve come home from yet another assessment with a folder full of recommendations and no idea where to actually begin.
Or maybe you’re right at the start of this, and the overwhelm hit before you even had time to breathe.
Either way, you’re carrying a lot. And as parents you probably feel like you’re carrying it alone.
Here’s what I want you to know: The hard moments… the meltdowns, the mornings that go sideways, the nights that won’t settle, the sibling conflict, the school stress… usually happen at home, in the middle of everyday life.
That’s also where parents have the greatest opportunity to support change.
That’s why I built The Loft.
What the Loft is
The Loft is a self-paced parent support library built for families raising neurodivergent children.
When you’re raising a neurodivergent child, it can sometimes feel like everything is connected, mornings, sleep, emotional overwhelm, transitions, food, flexibility, school, sibling dynamics, regulation, motivation, and family stress.
Parents are often left trying to work out:
What matters most right now?
What is sitting underneath the everyday moments?
Where do we even start?
The Loft gives you a way to make sense of the patterns you’re noticing the hard moments, and practical ways to respond in your real life, with your actual child, on the days when nothing is going to plan.
This isn’t a rigid program. There’s no homework to complete or boxes to tick. It’s a resource you return to when you need it: when something shifts, when a new challenge surfaces, when you want to go deeper on something that keeps coming up.
Because parenting a neurodivergent child doesn’t follow a linear path. Your support shouldn’t have to either.
Who this is for
You might be the parent who’s been in the system for years. You have the diagnoses, the reports, the strategies from three different professionals — and somehow, you’re still navigating the same hard moments. The strategies sound right in theory. At home, they fall apart.
Or you might be newer to all of this. Your child was recently identified, or you’re just starting to connect the dots, and the amount of information coming at you is genuinely overwhelming. You don’t know what to prioritise. You don’t know where to start.
Both of those parents belong here.
The Loft is an extensive parent support library.
What's Inside
The Loft is a library of video and audio resources built around the topics that come up most in my work with families. You work through them in your own time, in your own order, based on what’s most relevant for your child right now.
Topics covered include:
Welcome to The Loft
Get to know how The Loft works, take a snapshot of where your family is right now, and lay the foundations for noticing progress as it builds.
Everyday Tasks and Brain-Based Barriers
Understand the brain skills behind planning, getting started, switching between activities and staying organised, and why your child's behaviour often makes a different kind of sense once you can see what's happening underneath.
Handling Change and the Unexpected
A deeper look at why changes of plan, surprises and things not going as expected can feel so enormous for some kids, and how understanding what's happening for your child can change the way you respond in those moments.
Morning Routines
Explore why mornings can be so hard for neurodivergent kids, and practical ways to create calmer, more connected starts to the day in your house.
Sleep Foundations
Learn why sleep matters so much, what commonly gets in the way, and practical ideas to support better sleep for your whole family.
Regulation and the Nervous System
Understand what's happening in your child's body and brain when they're calm, revved up or shutting down, and how learning to spot these states can change the way you respond.
Emotional Regulation
Explore how kids learn to manage big feelings, why they borrow calm from the adults around them long before they can find it on their own, and practical ways to support your child through the everyday emotional moments where these skills grow.
Building Confidence
Understand how kids build their sense of who they are, why that inner story can be particularly fragile for neurodivergent children, and how you can help your child build a strong sense of self.
Nutrition, Nature, Exercise and Play
How food, movement, time outdoors and play affect your child's mood, focus and behaviour, and practical ways to fit more of them into ordinary family days.
Interests and Motivation
Discover why your child's special interests matter, how motivation that comes from inside a child (rather than from rewards or pressure) develops, and ways to nurture curiosity, confidence and lifelong learning.
Household Harmony
Bring everything together to create a home environment that supports your whole family, from routines and physical spaces to parent wellbeing and everyday family life.
Common Concerns
Thoughtful discussions around screens, sibling relationships and school, with practical ways to think through these challenges for your own family.
Bonus Resource
Everyday Reflections
A growing collection of newsletters exploring the everyday moments of raising neurodivergent kids, helping you make sense of the patterns, challenges and small wins that don’t always fit neatly into a module.
Your Personalised Loft Roadmap - Optional Add On
The Loft is designed to be self-paced, allowing you to explore the topics that matter most to your family in your own time.
If you’d like a more personalised starting point, you can choose to add a Personalised Loft Roadmap.
One of the hardest parts of parenting a neurodivergent child isn’t finding information.
It’s working out what fits your child, your family, and where to begin.
You’ll start by completing a guided reflection form about your child, your family, and the challenges and priorities that matter most right now. There is an accompanying video of me talking through the form if that is helpful for you also.
I’ll personally review everything you’ve shared and, within 5–7 business days, prepare your Personalised Loft Roadmap.
It’s a personalised document that helps organise the patterns you’ve described, identify your family’s current priorities, and connect them with the parts of The Loft that may be the most relevant place to begin.
Instead of wondering where to start or trying to work through everything, you’ll have a personalised starting point to help you navigate The Loft.
What you receive
The Loft includes:

Why I Created The Loft
After years of working with parents, I kept noticing the same thing.
Families were leaving appointments with real information — good information — but they had nowhere to put it. Life would get in the way. The other parent wasn’t in the room. The challenge would shift and the strategy no longer fit. And there was no way to revisit what we’d covered without booking another appointment.
I also knew something that I think is important to name: much of the change families are hoping for happens between appointments, in the ordinary moments at home, when you’re the one in the room.
That’s not a criticism of therapy. It’s an acknowledgement of where you actually live.
The Loft was built to support you there: in the mornings, the transitions, the emotional moments, the evenings, and all the small repeated moments that shape how your child experiences family life.
The goal was never to give parents more to do. It was to help families make sense of what’s already happening. So they can respond with more clarity, more confidence, and less of that constant, draining guesswork.
About Emma
I’m Emma, a registered psychologist based in Rockhampton.
I work with parents of neurodivergent children. Helping families make sense of what’s contributing to the hard moments and build practical ways of responding that can be carried into everyday life.
I work with families both in person and online across Australia.
One thing I believe deeply: you are the most important person in your child’s life. Not because the professionals don’t matter, but because you’re the one who’s there. Every day. In the real moments.
The Loft was built to support you in that role.
