Progress in Practice
Supportive, practical tools to help your neurodivergent family thrive - straight from a psychologist who gets it!
A 6-month parent package to help you find calm, confidence, and joy in parenting neurodivergent kids.
I see you. You’re the parent of a neurodivergent child. You love them SO much—and they’re the most frustrating person you’ve ever met. The stress. The worry. The meltdowns. It can feel like you’re trying to wrangle a hysterical bear.
You feel lost, confused. Conflicted. Constantly wondering: Am I doing the right things? How is this ever going to change? Will my child ever be ok? Why can’t we just [insert simple daily activity here]?
You’re not alone.
What if there was something you could turn to in the moment—right when you need it most?
What if the load felt a little lighter, and the second-guessing started to fade?
What if you had access to real tools, real guidance, and real-life strategies that actually fit your family??
Created by a psychologist who’s also a parent—someone who’s walked this path too.

I created this package because after years of supporting families — and raising my own — I’ve seen just how much growth really happens in the everyday.
That’s why this isn’t a program built around weekly appointments or one-size-fits-all strategies. It’s built around you. Your life, your values, your child.
Because parents play a central role in their child’s growth. It’s your presence and those everyday moments that lay the foundation for connection and change. The Progress in Practice package is here to support you in that.
Meet the Messy Moment Approach
Children don’t grow emotionally and behaviourally through perfectly planned sessions, they grow in the mess. The spilled milk, the sibling fights, the bedtime meltdowns. That’s where regulation, connection, and change take root.
And parents? You’re not just doing your best — you’re already doing the work. This approach gives you tools that fit your life, not add pressure to it.
1. Real Life First
We begin with your world: your routines, your challenges, your values. The approach is built around what’s actually going on in your home, not someone else’s plan. Because when strategies are shaped by real life, they actually stick.
2. Taking the first step together
You’ll get a plan with the exact next steps that are collaborative, so everyone in the family feels supported, seen, and involved.
3. Big Picture Support with Solid Foundations
When you zoom out, everything starts to make more sense.
We take a whole-family, collaborative lens, because no one piece of the puzzle exists on its own. We look at what underpins wellbeing and regulation: sleep, sensory needs, nutrition, routines, environment. These basics form the foundation for lasting growth — especially for neurodivergent children.
4. Moving Through the Mess
This part of the approach is woven together from what works, combining your lived experience, my professional insights, and your family’s unique strengths. It’s support that brings together the pieces, not just what’s happening in the moment, but what’s underneath it, around it, and after it.
5. Micro-Moments, Macro Impact
The little moments aren’t just little, they’re where change begins.
Progress doesn’t come from grand gestures. It comes from small, intentional actions repeated in everyday life. We focus on anchoring these moments so they don’t get lost in the rush — turning them into opportunities for learning, connection, and long-term change.
Because when you act with intention, even the smallest moments can shape something bigger.
With this approach you will walk away with
- Strategies that work in real life, not just theory
- Tools that support the whole family — not just the child
- More confidence, clarity, and calm in your parenting
- Practice that makes actual progress
-
A sense of direction, even when things feel messy

Curious About the Loft Modules?
I created these modules because there are some conversations I have with parents over and over again—about the tricky moments, the everyday challenges, and the things that don’t get fixed with quick tips. These are the things that really matter, the ones that shape our days and affect how our kids feel about themselves (and how we feel too).
Each module is built from those conversations—grounded in real-life moments, created to give you the tools and clarity I wish I could fit into every session. Think of it as the support you can turn to when you need it most.

Module 1 – Navigating Brain-Based Barriers
This module helps you understand executive functioning — the skills our kids need to plan, stay organised, and manage tasks. You’ll learn how to spot challenges and support your child with practical strategies that fit their needs.

Module 2 – Managing Morning Routines
We’ll explore why mornings can be so tricky and how to reduce stress for everyone. This module gives you tools and a clear plan to create calmer, more connected starts to the day.

Module 3 – Supporting Sleep Foundations
Learn why sleep is such a big piece of the puzzle when it comes to behaviour, emotions, and energy. You’ll get practical ideas for creating better sleep routines and spotting hidden issues.

Module 4 – Enhancing Self-Regulation Stability
This module introduces simple ways to help your child (and you!) notice and manage energy and arousal levels. You’ll build a shared language for self-regulation that you can use in daily life.

Module 5 – Developing Emotional Regulation Skills
Understand how emotional regulation develops and what’s happening when your child is overwhelmed. You’ll learn co-regulation strategies that support your child’s emotional growth and help you both feel more connected.

Module 6 – Building Confident Characters
We focus on your child’s sense of self — how they see themselves and their place in the world. You’ll learn how to support their confidence and self-worth, especially when the world doesn’t always get them.

Module 7 – Promoting Playful Wellness
Explore how nutrition, nature, movement, and play all support regulation and well-being. You’ll get easy, real-life ideas to help your child thrive in a way that fits your family.

Module 8 – Igniting Interests and Motivation
Discover how to nurture your child’s passions and use their strengths as a pathway to learning. This module shows you how motivation works in neurodivergent kids — and how to support it without pressure or push.

Module 9 – Cultivating Household Harmony
Learn how to create rhythms, manage energy, and build a home environment that works for your whole family. We focus on what matters most — connection, sustainability, and support.

Module 10 – Tackling Common Concerns
This module offers guidance for everyday challenges like screen time, sibling dynamics, and school struggles. You’ll come away with practical tools that reflect your values and your child’s needs.

Meet Emma...
Parenting a neurodivergent child can feel overwhelming, especially when the usual advice doesn’t seem to fit. That’s where I come in.
I’m Emma — a registered psychologist and a mum of three wonderfully neurodivergent kids. I’ve spent years supporting families like yours, both in my private practice and in my own home.

This package brings together the tools, insights and mindset shifts that have made the biggest difference in my work and in my own family.
It’s here to help you feel more confident in everyday moments and better equipped to support your child in a way that works for them — and for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this program designed for?
This program is for parents of neurodivergent children. It aims to offer support and insights to help parents better understand and nurture the individual needs of our neurodivergent children.
Do I get personalised guidance and support?
Yes, the group size for our fortnightly calls is kept to ten families so that everyone has time to talk things through, ask questions or have their previously submitted questions responded to.
What if we don't have a formal diagnosis?
That’s totally fine. If you’re seeing challenges that seem connected to neurodivergence, like sleep, regulation, routines, confidence, or learning, this program will still be helpful.
It’s for families who want support that makes sense for their child, with or without a formal diagnosis.
Can I use NDIS funding for this?
Yes, parents of self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants are able to access this program using NDIS funding if this aligns with their child’s NDIS plan goals. Please contact me directly if you have any questions about this.
How long does this program take?
This is a 6 month program, and you have access to the online platform content for 6 months. This course is built to be flexible and forgiving — so even if life gets chaotic (and it will!), you can still come back to the parts that matter most, when you’re ready.
Are there payment options?
The Loft is pay-as-you-go. You’ll pay separately for the one-on-one session, the online content access, and each group call as you go.
Is this program right for my child’s age?
The program is designed for parents of kids aged 4 to 12. That said, it might also suit younger or older children depending on your child and your goals.
If you’re not sure whether it’s the right fit, feel free to get in touch — I’m always happy to chat it through.
Not the right time?
That’s totally okay. You can join the waitlist for the next round — or, if you’d rather start quietly in your own time, there’s also a self-paced option available.
