Work With Me

Emma Richards - Work with Me - child hands

Support that starts with understanding.

You want things to feel easier for your child.

You want life to feel lighter for your family.

You want practical support that makes sense in the real moments of everyday life.

Everything I offer is built around one idea:

I believe many of the most meaningful opportunities to support children happen in everyday life … in the mornings, the mealtimes, the school run, the after-school crash, the bedtime routines, and all the ordinary moments in between.

The good news is that you don’t need to work out which service is the right fit before reaching out.

Every new family starts in the same place.

Initial Parent Session

Sometimes you just need someone to talk things through with — someone who understands neurodivergent kids and can help you figure out what’s going on and what to do next.

In this session we’ll:

  • talk through what you are noticing
  • identify patterns and priorities
  • clarify what kind of support will help most
  • map out your best next steps

My aim is to assist with finding a clearer sense of what’s happening and how to move forward – whether you continue with me or another service that’s the best fit for your family.

Assessments

Comprehensive assessments to better understand your child’s strengths, developmental profile and support needs when diagnostic clarification or a detailed assessment is appropriate.

Why Parents Work With Me

I’m Emma — a psychologist and a mum in a neurodivergent family.

My work is shaped by both my professional experience and the reality of raising three neurodivergent children. I understand how much is happening beneath the surface in everyday moments, and I work alongside parents to better understand those patterns in a way that is practical, collaborative and grounded in real life.

At the centre of my approach is a simple philosophy:

I believe many of the most meaningful opportunities to support our children happen in the ordinary moments of everyday family life.

Appointments can provide understanding, direction and planning, while the repeated moments at home, school, during transitions, mealtimes, bedtimes and play often provide opportunities to put that understanding into practice.

My role is to work alongside you to better understand your child’s experiences, identify priorities, and consider practical ways to support them in everyday family life.

Whether we work together for one conversation or over a longer period, my aim is to help you leave with greater clarity, practical next steps, and support that feels achievable for your family.
